E2E COVID-19 COMMUNITY INTERVENTION PROGRAMME IN FCT AND ENUGU..

From the beginning of this year, the world has experienced an unprecedented change with the challenge in the growing numbers of Corona Virus Cases world wide and more so in Nigeria that have continued to cast shadows of uncertainties and leaving several families in despair and some in hopelessness. The challenge projected by this ravaging pandemic is gradually reshaping our economic and our society and general approach to our way of life. However, where there are uncertainties and challenges, there exists the opportunity to make impact as Empowered to Empower the Less Privilege Women Initiative (E2E), today, 9 May provided pallatives supports to marginalised and vulnerable women in Kobi Makaranta Community in Asokoro-FCT and NSUDE Community in Udi LGA of Enugu State which is aimed at cushioning the effect of the lock-down so as to curtail the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

The Founder and Executive Director of E2E, Mrs. Joy Anih, while addressing the beneficiaries, further enlightened them on the importance of face masks while encouraging the women in the Community to ensure they always wear face masks and constantly wash their hands and ensure to use hand sanitizer always, reminding them that women have important role to play in preventing the spread of the virus. She further stated that the distribution of palliatives is aimed at complementing the efforts of the Government especially in reaching out to families in under served communities who finds it difficult to go to earn their daily livings.

The Project Officer, Abraham Solomon, while addressing the beneficiaries appealed to them as well as to all Nigerians to observe the safety precautions as recommended by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) by washing hands regularly, keeping safe distance and wearing protective materials.

As part of its social corporate responsibility and in line with its mandate towards ensuring the total well being of marginalised and vulnerable people, E2E as an organisation had always provided support for the less privilege communities and is committed to supporting more House-Holds through the periods of the challenge posed by the pandemic.
