IDWGIS 2022

Hello World,

It is International Day of women and girls in science!

As the world celebrates international day of women and girls in science (IDWGIS),

we join the united nation women UN Women and the United Nations educational scientific and cultural organization UNESCO in advocating for equity, diversity, and active inclusion of African women and girls

in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related work fields/careers.

This year’s theme focuses on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion of women and girls in science with an aim to increase progress in achieving SDG6 (clean water and sanitation).

We as an organization, committed to ensuring the total wellbeing of the undeserved, fragile and rural women and girls,

our message is that of inclusiveness for women and girls to have full access and be provided the opportunity to take up roles in STEM.

We will continue to educate and empower every young girl to believe in herself and take up strategic steps in acquiring scientific knowledge; don’t let anyone tell you civil/mechanical engineering is not for you,

there are unlimited possibilities in front of you, only expand your margins and dare, you can finish up that course and be an expert.

To this end, we therefore join the UNWOMEN in recognizing the role women play not just as beneficiaries, but as agents of change, in STEM industry around the world, their work and mentorship has continually contribute to economic prosperity, social justice and environmental integrity.
